The return of the Sun!

Another arbit post

This has been a really weird year (that's what the people who have been in Atlanta longer keep telling me). Well as I was saying, it has been so weird that it has snowed in Atlanta in March (although it was just flakes you could see and they melted way before they touched the ground). Then there was this freak tornado you must have heard of on the TV. Although the weirdest thing was that my house was very very (literally very) close to where I live, and I didn't feel a thing. The way I found out about the tornado was my sister calling me up from Bloomington because she saw this on the news (ironically, the most damaged building was the CNN headquarters I think, and as put by someone, "they finally got to use their 'situation' room"). Damn I keep losing track of what I am saying with these parentheses.

So as I was saying, this year has seen the weirdest of things happen to the Atlanta weather. I guess this is just the global warming kicking in, and I think its high time we get that huge chunk of ice from Neptune and drop in the Arctic ocean. I don't know if it is actually correct, but I feel there is a pattern in the weather. It follows thus: A really sunny day with really pleasant temperature of 15 degrees centigrade (I still can't figure the Fahrenheit thing), followed by a really sunny and hot day. Just when you think that the winter is over and start packing in your winter stuff, you see really dark clouds in the sky followed by really hard rain. And the rain really brings down the temperature to around 5 degrees centigrade, and it is time again for the warm clothes. Now you go on with the warm clothes for a couple of days. Then one fine morning you leave house wearing a jacket and/or a sweat shirt, but surprisingly, by the time you reach the school, you are sweating. Then you take out your computer and see the temperature, and you find out that it is a fine 17 degrees centigrade. Well thats how the weather has been going on in Atlanta for the last month. I am not saying that it is bad - in fact I find it kinda hopeful, considering the fact that it does get really hot in Atlanta, and I loathe the heat although I am from a place that is really really hot throughout the year.

Well today was one of those pleasant sunny days where everything is just perfect. And on a day like this, I find the trees really blooming with flowers and you can see a variety of colors around the campus. Luckily I had my camera with me and I managed to capture certain stuff that caught my eye. But I kinda feel this is end of the really weird weather and the sun is back for good, and we are really in for a hot summer - the real wrath of global warming.

Well weather aside, I wish I just get out of this rut I have so brilliantly managed to get myself into. I really need to get loads of stuff done, like every other graduate students. I keep making lists, but they never materialize, and the list just becoming longer and longer. Maybe I am kind of linked with the weather and the moment it makes up its mind, so can I and get stuff done.

If nothing, this post just gave me a candidate to blame for me not getting any work done :-)
